WHAT SIZE OF PEAPODMAT SHOULD I ORDER?
Great question! It will really depend on a few things. The size of the person using it, how much they move around and what surface they are protecting.
Our recommendation:
3x5 PeapodMat: older children, 3 yrs and up, to adult. Can be laid horizontal for bed size double or larger.
3x3 PeapodMat: up to ages 3 yrs of age or for an adult with limited mobility. Please keep in mind that these are just recommendations, if your child is large for their age at 3-4, you may need to go a size higher. **Not recommended for bed size double or larger.**
1.5 PeapodMat: Best for chairs, dining chairs, wheelchairs, OR as the perfect baby change mat or burping pad!
Whichever PeapodMat size you choose we highly recommend that the PeapodMat be placed slightly under the pillow. In our ‘Tips Video’ we show the best PeapodMat placement. Please visit our picture galleries (located in both the Kids and Adult tabs) for more clarification.
DO PEAPODMATS FIT A LARGER BED THAN SINGLE/TWIN?

CAN I WASH MY PEAPODMAT WITH REGULAR LAUNDRY?
Yes! Launder with like colors and treat your PeapodMat like a big towel in your regular wash. NOT recommended is the use of fabric softener, dryer sheets, dryer balls or bleach. These products are known to reduce the quality of waterproofing. Vinegar or Oxyclean may be use once in awhile if you need to deodorize your PeapodMat.
MY PEAPODMAT ISN’T COMPLETELY DRY FROM THE DRYER. CAN I THROW IT BACK IN OR SHOULD I JUST AIR DRY IT?
Throw it back in! PeapodMats are designed for easy use therefore you aren’t required to do any additional steps for washing and drying.
WHY IS MY PEAPODMAT STIFF OR ROUGH AFTER WASHING?
Too much detergent! Just like regular towels that stiffen over time, it is usually because too much detergent has been used and the terry cotton has built up a soapy residue. Remember we also don't recommend the use of fabric softener as that will also do the same thing! Wash your PeapodMat with a cup of vinegar and/or baking soda, with a thorough rinse. That should work to make the terry cotton soft and fluffy once again. If the mat has alot of residue you may have to do this a couple of times!
WHY DO MY PEAPODMATS HAVE BLOTCHY SPOTS AFTER WASHING?
UH OH! Unfortunately, unbeknownst to many of us there are numerous daily products we use that contain whitening/bleaching agents and therefore discoloration can be caused by several factors:
- Benzoyl peroxide could be the culprit. Many products that contain benzoyl peroxide can cause discoloration whether it is directly on the fabric itself, if it washed with other items that has its residue or even residue left behind in the washer that may have not been rinsed away. Examples of products containing benzoyl peroxide: as an acne treatment, skin brighteners, for improving flour, for bleaching hair and whitening teeth, for polymerising polyester just to name a few.
- Household cleaners: Clorox or other chlorine-based bleach can cause this issue. Some scouring powders can cause blotching. Products containing sodium hypochlorite/sodium hydroxide, and calcium hypochlorite, can also definitely do that kind of damage as well. It could also be some errant spray. But, even if you’re careful, washing any fabrics that may have a residue of such products with your laundry, could cause the problem.
- Even some popular detergents can alter fabrics. While claiming not to have bleach, they may contain sodium borate or sodium hydroxide which could also cause discoloration.
Luckily, this won't affect the leak proofing! Unfortunately, if this happens, PeapodMats will not be able to warranty your mat as these are circumstances beyond our control.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO PLACE OUR PEAPODMAT ON THE BED?
Thanks for asking! We highly recommend that the PeapodMat be placed slightly under the pillow.
DO PEAPODMATS GRIP TO ALL BED SHEETS AND SURFACES?
PeapodMats grip very well to carpets and upholstered furniture. If the surface is smooth (laminate/wood flooring, tiles, leather sofa etc.), it will not grip but will remain waterproof.
ARE PEAPODMATS COST EFFECTIVE?ABSOLUTELY!
Single-use bed pads might seem cheap at first glance but they quickly add up to as much as $650 per year, when used every night. That's if you're only using 1 pad per night... While PeapodMats might seem more expensive, they are reusable and will save you money in the long run. A Medium PeapodMat will pay for itself in about 7 weeks and a Large one in 8 weeks!
SHOULD MY CHILD STILL WEAR HIS PULL UP IF HE’S USING A PEAPODMAT?
Not if you don’t want him to! However, we recommend that he wear both underwear and pj’s (vs one or the other). The male anatomy can be tricky and end up pointing in all directions in the middle of the night and it has been our experience that the waist band from both the underwear and pj’s ensures there isn’t a “spray” everywhere. Save your money on buying pull ups!
MY SON DEVELOPED A RASH USING A VINYL PAD, WILL THIS HAPPEN IF WE USE A PEAPODMAT?
Sorry to hear that! If that was because of lack of breathability you won’t have to worry with PeapodMats. We pride ourselves on the fact that PeapodMats are breathable while still being leak proof!
WE ARE DONE USING THE PEAPODMAT FOR POTTY TRAINING. ARE THERE OTHER USES FOR PEAPODMATS?

Possibly! We are continually thinking of ways to be innovative with our products…while keeping in mind it has to be easy to use and easy to wash.

SHOULD I USE THE PEAPODMAT IN MY BABY'S CRIB FOR SLEEPING ON?
Yes & No! Do NOT use PeapodMats for UNATTENDED sleeping children between 0-9 months of age. If using a PeapodMat in a crib, when the child is 10 months or older, we recommend using it under the crib sheets. We do recommend using PeapodMats for babies for ‘nudey’ tummy time, changing mat, or bath mat (attended of course!).
